Listening to the presidential debate the other night reminded me of listening to a well-known speaker years ago, one of the few times I came face to face with a true narcissist. He was a published multi-millionaire under attack. He told us point-blank: “You all don’t get it. If I tell the jury that it’s pitch-black in the middle of the day, they’ll believe every word I say. That’s the way it is.” Unfortunately, for him, that’s not the way it turned out. Not always, but most times, truth eventually does win out.
