Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida 100: CURIOUS RESIGNATION

, , Leave a comment

Ron Filipkowski, a lifelong Republican and former state and federal prosecutor, resigned from his state-appointed position on a panel which picks judges for which he was nominated by Gov. Ron DeSantis, after Filipkowski reviewed the search warrant used to seize computers from Rebekah Jones, a vocal critic of the governor and former Department of Health data scientist terminated for complaining that the state manipulated COVID-19 data. Filipkowski called the governor’s handling of the pandemic “reckless and irresponsible” and criticized Jones’ treatment. It’s a curious case when facts can’t be seen for what they are, even in this Alice in Wonderland we call Florida.
