Virtually every human interaction requires a payoff of some type. It doesn’t really matter what it is, it still requires a payoff. Whether it’s a piece of work for an incentive called a salary. Or it’s some type of conditional or contingent performance which gets rewarded based on result. Or it’s exposure to the powerful or famous. Or it’s sex. Or it’s public acclaim. Or it’s self-esteem. Or it’s the opportunity to influence results. Or it’s feeling good about yourself. Or it’s giving to someone you love… or admire… or respect. Everything we do has some type of payoff.
