Nobody reading this needs to be reminded that 2020 unexpectedly crept into our nation as a thief in the middle of the night with unforeseen economic, professional and personal devastation for millions of Americans. We must never forget what we have learned in battling it. On the other hand, what the pandemic also did is provided permission – even mandatory opportunity – to slow down, rediscover our homes, bring new graduates who had escaped the nest back into the fold, and hunker down with our families in safety and security. That too was unexpected, and so very comforting. For that, I feel so very blessed.
