Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida 100: DISNEY DOMINATES

While “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” wasn’t the critical hit Disney had preferred, it nonetheless reinforced the transformation Disney has achieved since launching its first movie in 1937, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Disney’s share of the domestic box office capped 35% in 2019 with six of its films topping $1 billion in revenue. By leveraging its iconic assets on the big screen, theme parks and now even streaming, Disney has become a monster multimedia company with breadth and depth across technology and brick and mortar business platforms. Little will hold Disney back in 2020 from sharing center stage as one of America’s most reliable companies.
