Heckling of Gov. Ron DeSantis in recent press conferences identifies more than a difference of opinion on how to handle COVID-19. As a lawyer, my experience is that juries may not necessarily get all the facts correct, but they tend to have an uncanny sense of cutting through the BS. Gov. DeSantis has unfortunately co-opted the Trump playbook of ignoring facts and then pandering to what they perceive to be an uneducated audience – a behavior latent in Trump and imitated by DeSantis But, alas, a jury is far from uneducated, and the verdict on both our governor and our president will make that clear soon enough.
