Rep. Liz Cheney lost in Wyoming. Former Vice President Mike Pence and Gov. Ron DeSantis are on the prowl. And former President Donald Trump seeks revenge. Ahead of us is a modern day OK Corral in the upcoming Republican presidential primary. At issue is not who the winner will be, but whether the Republican Party will survive the shootout. Some of us may remember the Whig Party – gasping for its last breath by the 1881 gunfight — from our history classes. At this rate, our children and grandchildren may be asked someday to remember what used to be, at one point in time, the Republican Party.
