Fragment – Scientism

In a sense, we have two world views. The first world view is that science is the only route to truth, which is called scientism. Scientism leads to a world view known as scientific naturalism, which is the view that since science can only talk about nature, nature is all there is. Of course, the only thing that you will find through science is nature and hence, there has to be a belief that there is nothing except nature for scientism to be complete.

The other world view, of course, is theism, where everything is controlled by a deity who is prepared to overlook nature and scientific principles to set up a religious experience. Each world view, taken individually, is both conceptually polarizing and intellectually stagnant. On the other hand, each world view, when absorbed collectively, forms an axis that supports an integrational perspective of existence which has the opportunity to be unifying.
