Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter might be food for online banter, but it’s SpaceX that is turning heads. Musk first envisioned the concept of reusable rockets to drive down the cost of delivery; he then sought to replace earthbound internet transmission with low-orbit satellites connecting the planet. Counting the numbers as of April 2022, Musk is now up to six rocket launches a month, with 155 successful launches to date, aiming for a turnaround of just five days for each relaunch, and plans to expand his 2,300 satellites to 30,000 satellites, grossing billions of dollars from millions of subscribers. The Tesla founder is channeling Carnegie, Vanderbilt and Rockefeller simultaneously.
