EPIPEN OUTRAGE. While Central Florida parents clearly have cause to be outraged when the price of an EpiPen increases 500% to $608 for a two-pack, as manufacturer Mylan’s CEO, Ms. Heather Bresch, pulls down an annual salary of $18 Million, we do need to pause at what is becoming somewhat of a ritualistic circus in this country. First, Congress, state legislators, and the White house pass a series of laws, regulations and incentives which end up creating a virtual monopoly – in this case, on Mylan’s EpiPens – only to then haul their CEO’s before Congress, sheepish and hat in hand, maneuvering to dodge yet additional regulation.
