The long arm of justice appeared all too visible this week. Disgraced former celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti was sentenced to 14 years for stealing millions from former clients and Rudy Giuliani, whose Bar license was already suspended in New York, is about to have another — before the D.C. Bar — possibly revoked for “weaponizing his law license,” according to Hamilton Fox, the D.C. Bar’s disciplinary counsel, “to bring a frivolous action in an attempt to undermine the Constitution.” And locally, Joel Greenberg was sentenced to 11 years by Judge Gregory Presnell, who expressed amazement at the sheer breadth of his criminal behavior. Justice may be slow in America, but it eventually delivers.
