Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida 100: RIP IRV SHARGAA

With the media reporting the challenges of a sluggish labor market, it is refreshing to pause in remembrance of Irwin “Irv” Shargaa, who peacefully passed away surrounded by family at the age of 93, just two years after retiring from his upholstery shop, Tropical Decorators in Orlando, which opened in the early 1950s. Irv, despite a triple bypass, ran his business, and actively engaged with Kiwanis where he painted fences, built wheelchair ramps, put bicycles together, cooked pancakes and gave gifts away to Head Start kids. These are crazy times and we sometimes need to be reminded of the Irv Shargaas of this country!
