Orlando Sentinel’s Central Florida 100: RABBIT BAN

, , Leave a comment

At a time of darkening clouds on the world stage, some good news emerges from Pasco County, whose county commissioners this past Tuesday banned the sale of rabbits in public places such as flea markets and required certificates of sourcing for the retail sale of rabbits, although future retail sales may well also be prohibited. Pasco County Animal Services also offered a broad range of educational materials and guidance to support the proper care of domesticated rabbits. While tension abroad this week has led to open militarized hostility, it is comforting to know that sentient beings in our state are being looked after.
