With a spotlight on the role of guardians to care for individuals impacted by mental, physical or emotional needs, a Guardianship Improvement Task Force has convened for the Florida 2022 Legislative Session. The need is rampant. On a local level, guardian Rebecca Fierle was not sidelined until one of her wards ended up dead based on a do-not-resuscitate order he did not want. On a national level, Britney Spears has become the poster child for a life hijacked by a system all too smug and self-righteous. Fortunately, backed by legislative reforms and a motivated task force, help is on the way.
