Often surrounded these days by the good, the bad and the ugly, any attention directed to Fred Rogers, who graduated from Rollins College in 1951 is a welcome breath of fresh air. Photos were released by British sculptor Paul Day of his soon-to-be-unveiled statue of Mr. Rogers in the midst of his beloved children, called “A Beautiful Day for a Neighbor.” Life has gone on since Fred Rogers passed away in 2003, and its edges have become sharper; however, commemorating this kind and gentle man who modeled grace and inclusiveness for parents and children alike should never fade from view.
