When Aladdin released the genie from the lamp at recent performances of the Broadway musical at Dr. Phillips Center, he released more than just a bigger-than-life performance which captivated the stage; he ended up releasing a cavalcade of melodies which were all too familiar to the sold-out audience: Lion King, Little Mermaid, Frozen, Beauty and the Beast, and other Disney classics. Aladdin now allows Disney the opportunity to showcase its billion-dollar brands on the same Broadway stage — much to the delight of us all. After all, when Disney owns the lamp, it doesn’t get just three wishes.
