For anyone who has traveled to virtually every major city in Europe, it is fairly apparent that electric scooters are a fun and convenient method of transportation for pedestrians who want to get around short distances in a quick and easy way. While the debate before Orlando City Commissioners as to the safety of electric scooters vs. bicycles is certainly appropriate, it is also primarily perfunctory. Orlando’s intention is to join the league of cities with a memorable culture and lifestyle. Let’s approve electric scooters as Orlando continues its march to being a first rate city in a first rate world.
