Australia’s brush fires have identified for us tragedy as a catalyst in trumpeting a siren song for human compassion, as well as demonstrating the extent of its range embracing human beings in need, as well as other sentient beings. While Australians are suffering the devastation of loss of person and property, what is also apparent is that koala bears, kangaroos and other marsupials are being extinguished. As the world comes to Australia’s rescue, this tragedy has become a defining moment in the relationship between human beings and our inhabitants who share one circle of life with us.
